What Does the Scan Tell You?

From a maternal medicine perspective, these scans check the health of the placenta (the organ supplying blood from you to the baby) and monitor maternal blood flow. It also helps detect any potential risks early, determines your Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD), and ensures the pregnancy is progressing safely for the mother's health.

Done to confirm the exact gestational age and establish an accurate Expected Date of Delivery (EDD). This is vital for scheduling time-sensitive maternal blood tests and medication adjustments.
